Rather than a visit from the Easter Bunny, the holiday has been marked by the arrival of a new baby Leveret (Hare!).
But what is the difference between the two?
Kits (or more unofficially, bunnies) are born with their eyes closed and with no fur – totally dependent on mummy rabbits. Wide-eyed and furred, leverets are born ready for adventure! Leverets are left alone and sit very still amongst the grass to avoid attracting predators, one of the facts inspiring the naming of our ‘Hare Hideaway’!
Despite their differences, both are equally as special to us here at the farm. What used to be a rare sighting is now a delightful sign of Spring due to our dedication to encouraging more wildlife!
