Mark has an exciting new accolade in his beekeeping journey – a merit pass on his practical beekeeping exam! 🐝
As well as being a fun hobby, keeping bees is another way we prioritise wildlife here at Cocklebury Farm. With numbers of bee colonies suffering catastrophic collapse over the past few years, keeping honeybees is one way we can help get vital pollination processes back to where they need to be.
Fun fact – Mark also impressed his examiners by diagnosing the hive used during his exam with a bacterial disease. Luckily, because it was spotted, the keepers were able to quarantine the hive and treat it with antibiotics!
