Our girls are routinely tested for bovine TB with a simple skin test.
On day one two sites on the cow’s neck are clipped and the thickness of their skin is measured (don’t worry, it’s completely painless). They are then injected with two types of tuberculin – a bovine one 🐮 and an avian one 🦜(which is used as a control).
On day two we anxiously await the results!🤞
On day three the skin’s reaction to both the injections are compared – if the bovine site has a greater reaction than the avian, then they could possibly be infected.
Luckily, all our girls have passed their recent test, so they can continue being happy and healthy – living their best lives! 🎉🐄
