Spring at Cocklebury is always special, but this year has felt particularly full of life.
As always, we have an abundance of adorable leverets (baby hares) tucked away across the farm. 🐇
Our breeding kestrel pair returned for another successful season, their scruffy chicks matching under our old water tank. 🦅🐣
The owls are also nesting again, and plenty of rare birds have been spotted in the hedgerows. 🦉🪺
The ponds are full of activity too: frogs, newts, coots, moorhens, and ducklings all jostling for space. 🦆🐸
And of course, the return of our much-loved local bambis and fox cubs. 🦊🦌
Even the Spring lambs seem especially joyful this year — full of bounce and bleats! 🐑
Thanks to the glorious sunshine, we’ve also had more chances than usual to get out paddling on the Kennet & Avon Canal, just yards from the front door..
