It’s Hedge Cutting Time!

Nearly all the hedging (apart from one very short stretch outside of Wild Bee) was put in by the family when they first moved to Cocklebury. The hedging is a mix of native types chosen with wildlife in mind. 🌱

Only half of our hedging is cut in any given year. Managing the hedges in this way allows us to maximise their value for wildlife by boosting the production of berries and flowers! 🫐

Always leaving a bit of hedging uncut ensures that a key habitat for wildlife is constantly available – providing food and breeding space year-round. 🐣
