Our Girls!

Cow Looking Over Fence

If you’re staying on the farm you might hear us call “Come on Girls!” as we move our cattle between the fields!

Our girls (heffers) and an odd boy (steer) are Aberdeen Angus (sometimes crossed with other breed).

Angus Heffers especially are extremely placid and don’t need much other than grass and hay to eat and grow – and we give them very little else although they do like an apple!!

They come to us at 12 months old and stay for around 2 years – they have lots of space and stay outside all year – they are so well insulated that any snow that lands on them doesn’t melt!

We handle all our animals with care and rarely have to treat them for any problems. They will come and see you but please don’t get in the fields with them – especially with dogs because they are like big children and don’t know their own strength.
