Winter Farm Work! 🌱🚜

Although things may seem quieter during the winter season, a lot of farm maintenance and wildlife enhancement jobs have been going on in the background. 🚜

Preparing a large strip of soil to plant wildflowers🌷🌼

The first step in planting our new wildflower meadow was to prepare the seedbed. Using our handy stone burier we have turned the top soil to create a fine layer. Although it may not look like much now, we should eventually end up with a wildlife meadow that the bees and butterflies can enjoy! 🐝🦋

Hedge cutting before the nesting season🌳✂️

Before the main breeding season for
nesting birds begins we have trimmed back our hedges. 🐦 Any offcuts are also left in strategic areas around the farm to act as a shelter for small mammals and birds.

Planted our new almond tree 🌸

If you are staying in Wild Bee you will notice the new addition to your garden, an almond tree! It is already starting to blossom but come spring time it should be fully bloomed 💕
